Soft and sultry with soulful flare, Mari has a voice that’s uniquely designed. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Mari knew at age 12 that she would be a singer and musician. Her grandmother, who raised her in church, noticed her gift and cultivated it in gospel music.

Mari has worked with such gospel greats as Walt Whitman and DeWayne Woods. She has also recorded studio BGV’s for up and coming gospel artist, Kevon Carter. In 2007, Mari joined the female gospel group, N’Tegri-T where she remained for 7 years. The group performed at numerous events around the Chicagoland area, the pre-show at the Stellar Awards, and also recorded and released a gospel single entitled, “Keep Me Safe.”

As time passed, Mari expanded her musical palette and ventured into R&B and Neo Soul where she is currently a vocalist with The Cooper Jazz Project. “It’s been my dream to record and release my own music and that dream is finally coming true.” Mari is currently working on new original music to be released in the near future.
